Terms
The terms, including the parts that are not flattering.
What JuniFi is, what it explicitly is not, and what is expected of you — written while it is still a free private beta, because that is when the limits matter most.
Draft — effective date to be determined
JuniFi is in private beta and this document is a plain-language placeholder, not a finished legal agreement. It has not been reviewed by counsel and it carries no effective date. It is published now because you deserve to know how the product behaves before you hand it anything — and it will be replaced by a reviewed version, with a real effective date, before JuniFi is generally available or charges anyone.
JuniFi is read-only software that reads your financial accounts and tells you things about them. It cannot move your money and it is not your accountant. Those two sentences carry most of the legal weight on this page; the sections below spell out the rest.
How your data is handled is covered separately on the privacy page, and the technical controls behind it on the security page.
1.Who you are agreeing with
JuniFi is operated by Junious Digital Laboratories LLC, trading as Junious Digital Labs, of Spokane, Washington, United States. In this document “JuniFi” means the service, and “we” means that company.
By requesting or using an account you accept these terms as they stand. If you do not accept them, do not connect an account.
2.What the service is
JuniFi is read-only financial software. It connects to accounts you already own, separates business activity from the owner’s, reconciles obligations you declare against the ledger, ages open receivables and composes reminder drafts you send yourself, produces cash forecasts, and provides a conversational assistant that answers questions about your own figures.
JuniFi holds no money, moves no money, and has no payment capability of any kind. It is not a bank, a money transmitter, or a custodian of funds.
3.What the service is not
This is the most important section on the page, so it is a list rather than a paragraph:
- Not financial, investment, tax, accounting or legal advice. JuniFi organises your numbers; the judgment remains yours and your professionals’.
- Not a substitute for an accountant or a CPA, and not a filing service. Nothing it produces is a tax return or a certified financial statement.
- Not a bank or a broker. Your deposits are insured, if at all, by the institutions that actually hold them.
- Not a guarantee of accuracy. JuniFi reports what its data sources give it, and names the gaps it is aware of — but a forecast is an estimate and a reconciliation is only as good as the transactions it can see.
- Not a system of record. Keep your own books and statements. JuniFi is a lens over your finances, not the authoritative copy of them.
4.The private beta
JuniFi is in private beta. Accounts are granted at our discretion and in small batches. During the beta the service is provided free of charge, features may change or be withdrawn, data models may be migrated, and availability is not guaranteed by any service-level commitment.
You should expect rough edges, and you should not make an irreversible financial decision on the strength of a beta forecast without checking the underlying numbers.
5.Price, and how a price would ever be charged
Nothing is charged during the private beta, and no payment method is collected to join it. Beta accounts remain free for the duration of the beta.
If and when a paid plan launches — currently intended as a single Advisor plan at 29 US dollars per month — existing accounts will be told the price and the date in advance and must actively agree before any charge. No account converts to paid by default.
6.Your account and your conduct
You are responsible for the security of your sign-in credentials and for the accuracy of what you connect. You agree that you own, or are authorised to access, every account and business system you link to JuniFi — linking someone else’s financial accounts without their authority is a misuse of the service.
You agree not to attempt to access another user’s data, probe or load-test the production service without permission, scrape it, resell access to it, or use it to do anything unlawful. Security findings are welcome and should be reported as described on the security page.
7.Third-party services
JuniFi depends on providers including Plaid for bank connectivity, Anthropic for the model behind the assistant, and whatever business system you choose to connect. Their own terms govern their own services, and an outage or change at one of them can degrade or interrupt JuniFi through no fault of either of us.
8.Your data, and ending the relationship
Your financial data remains yours. We claim no ownership of it and no right to sell, broker or advertise against it. Granting us permission to process it in order to operate the service is the whole of the licence you give us.
You may stop using JuniFi at any time, export your data as CSV and JSON, and request deletion of your account. We may suspend or close an account for misuse of the service, for a legal requirement, or if the beta itself ends — and in that case you will be given reasonable notice and an opportunity to export first.
9.Warranties and liability
During the beta the service is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or accuracy of output.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, nor for lost profits, lost business or financial decisions made on the basis of JuniFi’s output. Because the beta is free, any aggregate liability is necessarily limited — the reviewed version of these terms will state that limit explicitly rather than leaving it to be inferred.
Nothing here attempts to exclude a liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10.Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington and the United States, and the courts of Spokane County, Washington are the intended venue for any dispute. The reviewed version will set out the dispute-resolution process in full.
11.Changes to these terms
This is a beta-period draft carrying no effective date. It will be replaced by a reviewed version with a real effective date before JuniFi is generally available or charges anyone, and material changes will be emailed to the address on your account rather than published quietly.
